Hugo took the camera with him to Arizona this week so no pictures today. He does get to come home this weekend so there should be some baby Benavente and new house pictures on Sunday or Monday. Since the renters are in our new house until Saturday we're not going to get a ton of moving accomplished this weekend but at least we'll be able to get into it.
This past weekend I was comparing stories with a friend of mine who is about 1 month more pregnant than me. She is DEFINITELY showing but this is going to be her second baby so she was expecting to look bigger faster. Still, I was feeling kind of jealous and wishing that baby B was a little more obvious so that the casual on-looker would see that I have a clear excuse for eating practically 24-7. That is, of course, until I went to put on my pants yesterday and all of the sudden they really don't button quite as easily as they once did. In fact, sitting down for any length of time requires immediate un-buttoning. So I guess I will count my blessings that baby is growing and wish my waistline a fond farewell. (I hope that we'll meet again someday.) In the mean time, Mamma needs a new pair of jeans.

Crazy, crazy, crazy afternoon
Today we signed our life away and closed on our new house. I was hoping to be able to post pictures tonight since we were supposed to have immediate occupancy BUT we found out yesterday that the renters in the house now weren't going to be out on time. Some how or another the renters didn't get the correct date so we're just kind of going with the flow and giving them the time they need to move out. We found out that we would be able to have the keys on November 15th (remember this date, it's going to be important in a minute).
THEN on the way to the title company to sign all the papers Hugo says to me 'Dave [the big boss at his company] called me a minute ago. He wanted to know if I knew very much about rate cases. [I have no idea what rate cases are but that doesn't matter much.] Apparently one of our clients is in the middle of a rate case and they need more help with it so Dave was calling to find out if I knew enough to help out."
To which I said, "Well, do you know enough to help?"
"Well, I know some but not a lot but I told them I would be willing to learn."
"What does this mean?" I say this because the look on Hugo's face implies that there's more to this story that he's not telling me.
"Well, Dave said he would call a few more people but if they needed me that I would definitely be home by Thanksgiving break."
"So you would have to be on site the whole time?!? Starting when?"
"Probably Monday" he said looking rather sheepish.
"You would be gone 10th to the 26th? During the time when we need to move?"
"Yeeeeaaah."
"But he's going to call some other people, right?"
"Yes" he said triumphantly, I think hoping that this might make up for being gone for the entire move.
Fast forward a couple hours when Hugo gets an email from Big Boss saying "Hugo, we're going to need to you to work on this rate case business. See you in Arizona on Monday!" I have since realized not only do we need to pack, switch all the utilities, move, etc., etc., etc., during this time but my sonogram is scheduled for November 19th. I think I'm going to reschedule it so we're all going to have to wait a little longer to find out if it's a boy or girl.
